HANDMADE CYLINDER -SHAPE BOX

Cylinderic fabric box
Completely sewed by hand

Hi all,
I would like to share that "First Post" tutorial with all sew lovers i hope you like it......

These boxes are very cute, beneficial and very fun to do.

you will need:
From the outer fabric:
cut 2* circles 9cm diameter     +2cm seam allowance
cut 1 rectangle   28.3cm width *7cm height    +2cm seam allowance each side
cur 1 rectangle 6cm width*10cm height (for attaching the box and the lid)
From the inner fabric:
2* circles 8.7cm diameter     +2cm seam allowance
1  27.3cm width*6.7cm height        +2cm seam allowance each side
1 hair bandage.
FOR ALL TH PIECES (OUTER & INNER) IRON THE INTERFACING ON, LEAVING THE SEAM ALLOWANCE TO MAKE IT EASY TO SEW BY HAND.
THE SUCCESS OF THE BOX DEPENDs ON HOW FIRM YOU CAN MAKE IT.

As you can see in the above fig. fold all the seam allowance inward and iron them quiet well.
for the circles hand stitch all around the circle and then pull the thread to have neat endings.
i used  a cardboard to get the exact size.

Now, start hand sewing, torture begin ...
first sew the ends of the outer fabric then attatch the first circle to make the base of the cylinder.
then finish the inner pieces BUT make sure that the right side of the fabric in inner pieces will appear inside.
put the smaller inside, allign them together, and attach the small rectangle in between start sewing thetop by slip stitches

then stitch the outer and the inner circles of the lid, fasten the hair bandage, before ending attach the lid to the body in the same way.

sew the buttom to the body of the box properly to meet the hair bandage.
almost done !
put any embielshment you like on the top of the lid ...

i hope you like it !!
you know, I made alot of these YET I do not have anyone of them, I gave them all to those whom I love.
Please feel free to ask me anything you want.
I will be so happy to have your opinions
